What are Widgets?
Widgets are small programs or applications that perform several different tasks, as well as new and original functions. Since the content updates go straight to your desktop, widgets are practical and they save time: you don’t have to open a browser window to get the information you want.
Yahoo! Widgets is one of the most powerful engines, with it you can add useful widgets quickly and easily. It also comes preloaded with useful applications, which help you get information on your local area weather, news, the stock market, Flickr, and Yahoo Mail among others, that go right to your desktop.
Another great widget engine is Windows Vista's Sidebar, its widgets are placed on the Sidebar, a native program of the operative system which hosts these applications.
Gelattina developed its widget based on Yahoo! Widget Engine and Windows Vista Sidebar technology, so you can choose whichever you like best.
